Manufacturing Training Coordinator

The manufacturing training coordinator will utilize best practices to establish and manage standardized training programs for the company’s large, small, waterbase and MPM paint operations as well as the resin and milling processes.  This non supevisory leadership position will be responsible for complying with all of company polices and procedures.  This position will facilitiate, monitor, track and drive all training for manufacturing employees. The Training Coordinator will be interacting with the 2 Plant Managers, 15 different supervisors and 110 operators. 30% of the job will be paperwork and the rest will be involved in training.


  • Develop/modify and implement a standardized training process that complies with all regulatory/corporate requirements
  • Oversee the training program for all non-exempt manufacturing employees
  • Train and develop new and existing employees in the manufacturing areas
  • Conduct safe work permit audits
  • Ensure equipment is operated in compliance with all environmental regulations/permits during training
  • Support safe, reliable performance of duties by ensuring that training activities comply with site, corporate, quality and regulatory standards
  • Reinforce high housekeeping and performance standards through training
  • Prepare and present instructional materials for the assigned area of responsibility
  • Lead training classes as requested/required
  • Develop and conduct monthly job and field audits
  • Create and run training reports as requested
  • Document owner capable of creating/updating quality management system documents (work instructions, visual aids, SOPs, etc.)
  • Review MOC (management of change) requests and develop/conduct training as required to comply with identified/approved changes
  • Provide MOC training upon re-entry for non-exempt employees who have been on leave for significant periods
  • Develop/implement/monitor a process for recertification of personnel
  • Assist area managers/supervisors with identification of emerging training needs
  • Maintain training records
  • Perform other duties as required/assigned by manager.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 7 years of manufacturing experience and have equipment knowledge
  • 2 years of training experience required
  • SAP and Stagegate experience preferred
  • Must be able to take ownership of the training and have vision
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to use all Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries, and/or complaints
  • Displays courtesy, tact and respect when dealing with others
  • Must be able to interact with people on all levels
  • Must be able to work with all learning levels and adapt pace of learning to meet students’ needs
  • Must be fully knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices
  • Must have knowledge (existing or learned) or all operating equipment / procedures in manufacturing areas
  • May need to hold and maintain certifications necessary to conduct training (ex. Forklift)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be an influential leader and have the ability to work well with all departments/shifts
