Senior Food Scientist

To be a rock star anchor for a lean R&D team consisting of Director, 3 technologists / scientists.  You will be a senior leader responsible for developing cultured plant-based dairy products.  These products are in hundreds of retail grocers and they want you to keep those new products coming!

You will do all phases of product development, including ideation / market research, gold standard creation, ingredient sourcing, benchtop formulation, commercialization, improving existing products or processes, writing ingredient and finished goods specifications, meeting regulatory and food safety requirements, etc.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Research based approach to innovation
  • Plant-based proteins
  • Emulsions, hydrocolloids, rheology, food fermentation
  • Concept to commercialization plus co-manufacturing a plus
  • Micro and quality, regulatory knowledge
  • Multi-project management
  • Cross-functional work with quality, production, marketing, and sales
  • Lead by example, be passionate about the vegan landscape, and have fun
  • Culinary knowledge as connoisseur of pairing their diary free cheese and spreads

Required:  BS, MS, PhD in Food Science, Food Engineering, or similar disciplines

Preferred:  Advanced degree


  • 7-10+ years of experience in the Food industry with formulation expertise
  • Commercialization of products
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Innovation in plant protein research
  • Your extensive culinary background and prowess is known to all who have eaten your cooking. Perhaps you cooked in restaurants back in the day and love to cook at home!  Bring it to work!
  • You have a solid food science background and easily blend your culinary skills and food science
