Account Manager
Privately held chemical company looking for an experienced account manager who has worked in performing sales for automotive coatings to join their team. If you love being in sales, and have experience selling in the automotive coatings industry, this may be an excellent opportunity for you! This opportunity requires up to 80% travel with 1-2 overnights / monthly. Company offers excellent benefits.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed budgeted sales and direct contribution goals
- Serve as primary point-of-contact for assigned accounts and lead day-to-day management with respect to customer satisfaction, including technical support, problem resolution, matters of quality, pricing, etc.
- Work closely with Customer Service and Finance for all Contract Review issues
- Work closely with Operations for product quality and delivery issues
- Prospect and qualified leads/opportunities, consistent with the company’s product portfolio or future business plans
- Benchmark competitive pricing, products, and business practices and inform management
- Submit laboratory requests to R&D for product development and/or product modification needs
- Obtain long-term contracts with key accounts, whenever applicable
- Lead, manage and hold accountable any Technical Service Representatives servicing your book of business
- Disseminates corporate vision and goals (V/TO), as well as individual performance expectations to this group
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
- Travel will be about 80% of the work week with approximately 1-2 overnights / month

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- BS in business administration or finance
- 3-5+ years of experience performing sales for interior automotive coatings
- Ability to travel to customers and prospective customers up to 80% of the time, 1-2 overnights a month
- Ability to supervise technical service personnel in future
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Professional Software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Coatings & Paint Technology
- Paint Test & Application Methods
- Business Acumen
