$100,000-$110,000 in base salary annually based on experience

A leading billion-dollar company is seeking an Analytical Chemist to oversee key projects and standardize lab safety practices across the organization. You will work closely with management to implement a unified approach to safety, playing a crucial role in shaping the company’s safety culture. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on operational excellence.
- Support location engineers with process, product and special sample analysis including identification of unknown materials.
- Support routine analytical chemistry requests in the Technical Service Lab.
- Report and communicate results using a variety of tools including LIMS, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Support Laboratory Council with development of new and/or improved analytical chemistry methods.
- Participate in review of proposed global methods (ISO format methods of analysis) in support of company participation with various regional and global standards bodies.
- Coordinate and collaborate with third-party laboratories including academic and contract analytical chemistry laboratories where appropriate.
- Coordinate with the Laboratory Council to develop Laboratory Safety Best Practices.
- Champion Laboratory Safety across the company Network.

Job Requirements
- MS/PhD or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physical Science, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment preferred.
- Subject matter expertise in advanced analytical chemistry methods including use, troubleshooting and routine maintenance of multiple instruments which might include GC, HPLC, IC, FTIR, and/or ICP.
- Experience with sample collection in a Petro-Chemical plant operating environment.
- Understanding of laboratory safety regulations in the US, with ability to assimilate regulatory requirements in Canada and the UK.
- Time management and organizational skills; including the ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and assignments with competing demands.
- Ability to perform analytical-related activities of large amounts of data and identify trends.
- Strong skills in MS Excel, Access, and Word to combine and analyze large amounts of data from various sources and generate reports and graphics.
- Skill in effectively communicating complex information verbally and in writing.
- Skill in analyzing and summarizing data gleaned from a variety of sources and preparing benchmark reports.
