Applications Scientist – Dairy
Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder to be considered for candidacy for this position.
The Applications Scientist supports the Research and Development teams by contributing to the development and enhancement of stabilizer blends used in a broad range of food applications. This role includes producing finished samples in the pilot plant, performing analytical testing on products and ingredients, and working closely with the sales team and customers to ensure successful product outcomes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned projects within established timelines.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of all project activities.
- Produce finished samples in the pilot plant for both internal review and customer evaluation.
- Prepare supporting materials such as specification sheets, nutritional information, and formulation letters.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Lead projects from initial concept through specification, commercialization, and production stages.
- Participate actively in ideation and brainstorming sessions.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are upheld in the pilot plant environment.
- Assist the sales team by preparing and delivering PowerPoint presentations for customers.
- Collaborate with sales and customers to provide technical expertise and product insights.
- Work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance and production teams to enhance processes, refine procedures, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) at all times.
Salary
$80,000 - $110,000

Requirements / Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science or a related discipline.
- Experienced in Dairy applications is a plus.
- 2-5 years’ experience in product development or application roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external customers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines reliably.
- Capable of working independently and completing assignments according to given instructions and standard practices.
- Familiarity with SQF standards, GMPs, Kosher, sanitation, allergen control, and organic practices.
- Willingness to travel as needed, up to 25% (on average 10-20% travel).
