Job Description

Associate Manager – Labor Engineering

The Labor Engineer is responsible for assessing, analyzing, and managing the labor needs within the organization and drives impact across the business by ensuring that the organization’s resources are optimally utilized, allowing it to efficiently meet current and future demands cost-effectively.  With this role, the opportunities are endless!  The Labor Engineer will report to the Senior Manager, Labor Insights.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Accountable for measurable productivity improvements toward realizing long-term labor savings targets
  • Responsible for achieving and exceeding targets by streamlining processes, enhancing equipment and technology, and eliminating work (i.e., asking teams to just do more of the same with less is NOT success, regardless of financial outcomes)
  • Build out the roadmap of activities to save seconds and minutes of effort throughout all aspects of the restaurant and team member’s day-to-day experiences
  • Balance holistic thinking and integrated approaches with the ability to move fast and scrappy to drive concrete operational and financial impact in-restaurant

Job Requirements

Is this you?

  • MBA or master’s degree in relevant field preferred
  • 10+ years minimum of leadership experience in the restaurant or retail industry driving innovation
  • Proven track record of leading breakthrough innovation projects in a retail environment leading to new systems and operating models that enable breakthrough results in terms of labor, productivity, from concept to launch
  • 3+ years minimum experience directly leading, engaging, and inspiring a team – able to leverage the team’s expert knowledge and integrate with new ways of working
  • Ability to quickly develop trust-based relationships and influence at various levels of an organization, drive change and tangible innovation within an established brand
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize time in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
