Job Description

My client, a progressive manufacturing company in DeKalb, is seeking a Buyer to join their growing team.

Buyer  - Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for supporting the purchasing team with vendor selection, manage vendor relationships, pricing and working cross functionally with engineering and sales.

  • Assist in managing a $20M spend of steel, aluminum, components and other raw materials
  • Be involved in planning and implementation of sourcing strategies
  • Involved in negotiations with vendors
  • Ensure accurate end of month inventory
  • Communicate with suppliers and resolve any issues

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Buyer role with a manufacturing company
  • Ability to read blue prints is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Computer skills – Excel and MRP
