Capital Project Cost Estimator
Job Description
Our client is a global provider of storage and transportation in the chemical, petrochemical, and oil & gas industries. Due to growth, our client is adding headcount and hiring an engineer dedicated to cost estimating for capital projects, specifically projects related to infrastructure. This engineer may also work with the business development team to estimate project costs for potential new customers. This is a great time to join a growing team.
The Capital Project Cost Estimator will:
- Apply relevant industry standard practices to all stages of the project estimates, including AACE 97R-18
- Manage transitions from Class 5 estimates through to Class 1 estimates
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure there are no gaps in materials or labor
- Ensure all safety precautions are implemented through every phase of the projects
- Apply LOPA, LPP, and HAZOP standards to project requirements
- Secure bids from outside vendors, and effectively create a vendor database
- Utilize Risk Graph methods
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 + 15% bonus

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- BS Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Or Material Science
- 5 -10 years of capital project management, either as a Project Engineer, Project Manager or Construction Manager, with a focus on infrastructure
- Experience in chemicals, petrochemicals, or oil & gas (not civil construction)
- Knowledge of AACE standards
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma is a nice plus, but not a must-have
Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 + 15% bonus
