Chemical capital project engineer/Chemical Engineer/Capital Project Manager
Our client is a global chemical manufacturer, and they are investing capital into their facilities. The Engineering Project Manager is a corporate role that will work with site project teams to develop and implement capital projects. This role will be seated at one of the manufacturing facilities, with a preference for the Chicago area. If seated in the Chicago area, travel will be about 30%. If seated at another site, travel will be up to 70%.
Job Responsibilities of the Engineering Capital Project Manager include but are not limited to:
- Work with site engineering teams to evaluate equipment needs and develop project plans
- Identify what equipment is needed for sufficient production of product, including new products
- Assess and oversee maintenance and reliability of current equipment
- Oversee the front-end design, which may include managing vendors
- Provide updates to corporate leadership
- Travel to sites for oversight of project implementation
Salary Range: $125,000 - $140,000 plus 15% target bonus

Job Requirements
- BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Material Science
- 5+ years of chemical manufacturing experience, may consider food/beverage manufacturing
- Experience managing capital projects in the $3M range, and multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with maintenance and reliability programs
- Must be a collaborative communicator
