Chemist – Coatings Formulation – LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY

The duties and responsibilities of the Chemist – Coatings Formulation will include:

• Investigates and develops new technology and methodologies. Conducts research on manufactured products to develop and improve products.  New product development
• Develops and formulates innovative and cost-effective solutions. Researches new and/or alternate raw materials for cost control, plant economies and for the purpose of creating new coatings products or improving existing products.  Provides training and work-related guidance to lesser experienced technicians and chemists
• Prepares standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests. Problem solving and disposition of distressed products or raw materials
• Provides technical service support including customer complaint investigations
• Evaluates and interprets test results and makes appropriate recommendations

Technical Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Science related field
• A minimum of 1-3 years of demonstrated innovative experience with applied coatings research and development
• Experience with chemical batch processing
• Formulation and development experience with paint and chemicals
• PC skills including proficiency in use of MS Access, Word & Excel
