Established and fast-paced company with a new lab and many new innovation projects is seeking an experienced Chemist to mentor junior Chemists and manage projects. Work on products for major consumer brands here!
$92,000-$95,000 in base salary annually based on experience

The Chemist II is responsible for leading the formulation and testing of cleaning solutions, or the testing of raw materials designed for Household, Institutional, or Industrial markets. The role requires an advanced understanding of product development and design principles, superior problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and innovative thinking. The candidate should be proficient in experimental design and execution, data interpretation and analysis, and the use of analytical equipment. This position also involves mentoring junior chemists and overseeing laboratory operations from product conception to commercialization.
- Lead the formulation and testing of cleaning solutions, or the testing of raw materials going into formulations.
- Design, execute, and oversee experiments, ensuring data collection and analysis are conducted effectively.
- Evaluate literature and various sources of information for relevance, reliability, and credibility.
- Conduct detailed chemical profiling of new chemicals to determine their composition and properties.
- Interpret and analyze data, discerning patterns, trends, and insights.
- Use and maintain analytical equipment for data acquisition and interpretation.
- Report technical data and information in a clear and concise manner.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and safety protocols related to chemical hazards.
- Manage resources effectively to meet project objectives.
- Oversee projects to completion.
- Lead individuals throughout projects, coordinating tasks, responsibilities, and communication.
- Guide and support junior chemists, manage laboratory activities from initial product ideas to market launch.

Job Requirements
- Strong comprehension of relevant methodologies and practical experience in developing innovative and effective products
- Skilled at analyzing complex issues, devising practical solutions, and efficiently implementing them.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities are essential.
- B.S. degree in chemistry, biology, or chemical engineering
- 5-7 years’ experience or a M.S. degree with 2-5 years’ experience working in a lab formulating and testing cleaning solutions or raw materials designed for Household, Institutional, or Industrial markets.
- Experience in a leadership role is preferred.
