Coating Resin Synthesis – Senior Chemist – Alkyds / Polyesters

The duties and responsibilities of the Coating Resin Synthesis – Senior Chemist – Alkyds / Polyesters will include:

• Synthesis of waterborne & solvent-borne alkyd and saturated polyester in short term projects to meet customer needs (3-6 months in length)
• Responsible for completing assigned synthesis related projects that will cover multiple coatings application areas including both architectural and industrial markets
• Projects include developing new products, modifying existing products to meet the needs of our customers, and providing technical support to our customers as well as manufacturing support
• This position will interface with Customers, Sales, Manufacturing, Technical Service, Procurement and other Synthesis groups
• Generation of technical reports, invention disclosures, presentations, and product literature

Technical Qualifications:

• BS with 5-10 years or MS level Chemist with 2 years of experience in the development of alkyds and/or saturated polyester resins and polymers for industrial coating applications
• Design modifications, bench work, and full-scale manufacturing experience required
• Leadership potential
