Job Description

Composite Materials Sales Account Manager – Upper Midwest

This opportunity doesn’t happen often because the Sales staff stays here until they retire!  You will travel the upper Midwest region, from MN, WI, IL, and MI to meet with customers, introduce new products, build relationships, close sales, and also assist the Distributors in Sales and Marketing.  You’ll be selling composite materials used in manufacturing FRP composites, laminates, and more!

Primary responsibility of the Account Manager is to drive top line growth (volume) by managing the existing account base while prospecting for new opportunities.  Key to being successful as an Account Manager is to ‘create value’ and to continually bring on new business so all sales goals are met or exceeded.  Account Managers act as the critical link between the company’s resources and the customer’s needs (requirements).

Primary Accountabilities/Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of assigned territory so margin growth is maximized. This includes both direct and distribution accounts
  • Create value as an Account Manager by interfacing with assigned accounts, in order to fully maximize sales
  • Build and maintain rapport with key decision-makers at strategically important accounts
  • Develop and implement sales related actions (account planning, account forecasting, account strategy/tactic formation, etc.)
  • Develop and implement ‘Action Plans’ to maximize volume / profitability in your assigned territory (examples: price increase, new business development campaign, volume push, etc.)
  • In conjunction with the Large Account Managers, develop key large accounts within your assigned territory
  • Complete all tasks related to the sales function in a timely manner (sales call reports, monthly reports, expense reports, etc.)
