Director / Sr. Director of Ingredient Science

We’re looking for passionate, driven, and ambitious people to join our fast-growing team.

Professional Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in research & development / product or process development of new products
  • Possess strong technical and functional skills and understand ingredient functionality, protein chemistry and process interaction in various food matrices
  • Track record of building and leading productive technical teams
  • Be able to drive product development with a focus on the ambiguous front-end of innovation
  • Use novel fungi nutritional protein ingredients in a variety of applications to test feasibility and product or ingredient performance
  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex results in a clear manner
  • Conduct bench top work and pilot plant trials to explore ingredient functionality at the molecular level as well as the macro level and optimize processes

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Preferred Ph.D. or Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering, or related experience in the ingredient or food industry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong people management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and project management skills
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage complexity
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and set technical direction
  • Self-motivated by problem solving in highly ambiguous situations
