Director of New Business Development – Architectural Paint Sales

Growing privately owned company with premium products is looking to add this person to the team.  Report directly to the CEO, and you will bring your new business development skills and relationship building characteristics to advance product placement in Retail channels.  Excellent comp package.  Work remote, travel about 35%.  Grow a business for a highly desirable product!

Must have extensive experience working in the paint industry, retail store chain, specifically in Sales and Marketing.  The Director of Sales and Development will be responsible for business development by mapping out potential opportunities and establishing new customer relationships across the USA.  Bring the business with retail chains and medium-sized retail stores.  Once connections are formed, the Director monitors account management and ensures customer satisfaction by regularly surveying accounts and meeting with account managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets
  • Monitor and analyze sales metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Develop and foster relationships with new prospective customers
  • Successfully developed, managed, and launched products in new retail store chains
  • Improve performance in existing retail customer chains
  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and budgets

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Track record of building sales/new business through National Retail accounts, bringing new accounts to the table
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other discipline required. MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years of business development experience focused on paint and hardware channel
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • A solid history of entrepreneurial success
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functional groups and build strong teamwork/relationships
  • MS Office knowledge with an excellent level of Excel skills
