EHS Manager

Our client is well established and is looking for an experienced EHS Manager.  In this role you will lead and manage all EHS programs while implementing and enhancing the programs and culture within the manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions:

Environmental Compliance

  • Manage all aspects of EPA, RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP, and stormwater compliance
  • Oversee hazardous / non-hazardous waste management and Synthetic Minor air permit programs
  • Conduct environmental inspections, sampling, and report preparation
  • Ensure adherence to industrial wastewater treatment regulations

Health & Safety Program Leadership

  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of critical life safety programs (LOTO, confined space, hot work, etc.)
  • Facilitate Safety Committee meetings and site-wide safety initiatives
  • Oversee training: new hire orientations, Frontline LMS coordination, and instructor-led safety sessions
  • Serve as incident command leader for emergency response and readiness

Process Safety & Risk Management

  • Administer the Process Safety Management (PSM) program and conduct audits and PHAs
  • Conduct risk assessments, JHAs, and site inspections
  • Lead incident investigations and drive corrective action closure
  • Champion a proactive safety culture among all employees

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; or equivalent EHS experience
  • 5+ years of EHS leadership in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, DOT, and PSM regulations

Preferred Certifications:

  • CSP (Certified Safety Professional)
  • CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)
  • OSHA 30-Hour or similar credential

Skills Required:

  • Basic Math and Science knowledge
  • Microsoft Applications (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • SAP or similar ERP systems for tracking training, audits, and documentation
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Frontline
  • Air monitoring and safety equipment use
  • Training & Presentation Skills
  • Analytical Thinking
  • Problem-Solving Orientation
  • Influencing & Coaching
  • Decision-Making Under Pressure

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no direct reports but assists in mentoring peers and other departments as needed.
