Entry Level Analytical Chemist – Polymers and Materials
Just graduated with your BS in Chemistry? Or have a year or two of experience working in a QC lab? This exciting position is working on the Analytical team supporting R&D efforts in polymeric materials. This is a solid company with a long history of retaining employees with great benefits! Responsibilities of the role:
Conduct high quality analytical lab work that is needed for development, commercialization, industrialization, or trouble shooting of products by performing the following tasks:
- Analysis of routine and non-routine R&D, customer, and plant samples
- Contribute to analytical method development and improvement
- Log samples in and out
- Communicate analytical results to internal and external customers
- Data entry (Excel) and analysis
- Help with Safety equipment testing, as needed
- Laboratory measurements (titration, pH, viscosity, acid value, hydroxyl value, etc.)
- Perform instrumental analyses as needed, including GC, GC/MS, GPC, IR, DSC, DMA, ICP, etc.
- Good laboratory notebook practice
- Maintain housekeeping in individual and shared work areas
- Maintain lab equipment through preventative maintenance, verification, and calibration. Report any equipment malfunctions

Salary
$50,000 - $60,000

Job Requirements
Education / Skills Required:
- Minimum of a BS in Chemistry or related science
- 1-3 years’ experience with polymer materials preferred
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work effectively
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Curious, willing to learn, critical and analytical thinking skills
