Environmental Engineer: Reclamation
Looking for a Reclamation Engineer to join the Absorbents and Additives Business Unit. In this role, you will design, plan, and implement strategies for the reclamation and restoration of land, water, and natural resources. You’ll also play a crucial role as the liaison between the company, regulatory agencies, and environmental contractors to ensure industrial activities are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner and remain in compliance with relevant environmental regulations, permits, and standards. Essential Functions:
- Assess the environmental impact of industrial projects such as mining, oil and gas extraction, or construction, and develop strategies to minimize these impacts
- Create reclamation plans that outline the steps and techniques required to restore disturbed areas to a functional and sustainable state
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations, permits, and standards
- Stay up to date on environmental laws and policies and ensure that all reclamation activities adhere to these guidelines
- Conduct site assessments to evaluate the current condition of the land or water affected by industrial activities
- Analyze soil, water quality, vegetation, and other ecological factors to determine the extent of environmental damage and plan appropriate reclamation measures
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the reclamation process
- Collect data on key indicators such as vegetation growth, water quality, and ecosystem recovery to assess the success of the reclamation efforts
- Maintain detailed records of reclamation activities, including site assessments, plans, monitoring data, and any modifications made during the process
- Prepare reports summarizing the progress, challenges, and results of reclamation projects to inform stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and management

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mining, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of consistent experience in a civil or mining environment
- Must be able to prepare drawings using AutoCAD 3D
- Must be able to interpret, modify, and update extensive mining permits based on regulatory standards
- Professional Engineer (PE) Certificate in Florida and/or GA is a plus
