Finance Manager

           

Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager supports the Chicago offices and reports to the Chief Financial Officer, though she/he will also interface with various levels of management including interaction and coordination with the Director of Finance and Revenue.   This person will be a business partner to senior leaders in Chicago and support them in all manner of client finance roles.  

  • Provides regional financial counsel to the agency’s Midwest operations
  • Supports Managing Director and regional leaders in client finance, staff utilization/planning, overservice monitoring, budgeting, billing & accounts receivable and in the preparation of contracts and RFPs
  • Supervises finance for the region, and has ongoing interaction with company’s management to gather, analyze, and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, new business, trended future requirements and operating forecasts among others
  • Supports monthly closing process, and manages revenue recognition for Midwest operations, coordinating with Director of Finance and Revenue
  • Communicates financial policies, practices, and procedures with employees, managers, vendors, reporting agencies, and clients
  • Oversees cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation and ensure timely financial statements
  • Provide direction and training to employees and regional leaders on financial systems and time entry
  • Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations
  • Analyzes operational issues impacting the business, and determine their financial impact
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted financial principles and company procedures
  • Makes strategic recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies
  • Analyzes monthly budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls

Job Requirements

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an agency setting (advertising, marketing, public relations, etc.)
  • 5+ years of client finance experience required, with emphasis on partnering with senior leaders and good organization and communication skills
  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or business management preferred. CPA and CFO skillsets not required
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, with special emphasis in Excel, PeopleSoft Financial experience a plus
  • Proven service orientation, fostering positive working relationships with agency staff and external clients
  • Well organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong time and project management skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced work environment
  • Comfortable working independently, shows initiative and has a proactive and positive attitude
  • Demonstrates excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrate professional behaviors and pursuit of excellence in all operations
