Formulations and Compounding Chemists
This is a rapidly growing custom manufacturer of personal care products. If you’ve compounded and or formulated personal care (lotions, creams, liquids) products, this could be an exciting opportunity for you! There are multiple openings!
We seek a highly skilled and experienced chemist to join our team as a key member responsible for compounding cosmetic products manufactured for our clients. As a chemist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products by compounding products, supporting regulatory compliance, and ensuring that our products meet or exceed client specifications and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compound medical devices / lubricants, cosmetic products, including creams, lotions, serums, body wash, and other personal care products
- Compound products accurately and efficiently in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
- Perform quality control checks of incoming raw materials and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Primarily microbiological and physical testing
- Support regulatory compliance by reviewing and interpreting regulatory requirements and guidance documents and ensuring compliance with established quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with other departments, such as quality control, research and development, and production, to ensure that compounding supports the manufacturing process and client needs
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all compounding activities, including batch records and laboratory notebooks
- Maintain compounding equipment and ensure it is calibrated and maintained according to established procedures
- Ensure all laboratory activities and data meet established safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related STEM field
- At least 1-3 years of experience in compounding cosmetics or personal care products
- Experience formulating and compounding personal care products using various ingredients, such as emulsifiers, surfactants, preservatives, and active ingredients
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for cosmetics or personal care products, such as FDA, EU, and ICH guidelines
- Strong attention to detail is a must, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) preferred
