General Industrial Coatings Development Chemist

The General Industrial Coatings Development Chemist is responsible for new product development, and improvement of existing product lines and maintenance of customer opportunities within the Industrial laboratory.

This Chemist leads projects of varying levels of complexity with little to no supervision.  The Chemist will be provided with ample opportunities to demonstrate development of technical expertise while providing support to internal and external customers.  They will have opportunities to develop expertise and demonstrate leadership to lesser experienced chemists within the lab.  This position has approximately 30% travel within North America.

Technical Qualifications:

Preferred:

• 5 years of coatings-specific industry lab experience
• 3+ years of formulation of general industrial for metal substrate coatings specifically
• Experienced in DOE-based problem solving
• Able to willing to travel up to 30% of the time (all domestic)
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work effectively as a member of technical and cross-functional teams
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Must be hands-on at the bench!!
• Innovative and creative in finding solutions – strong problem-solving skills! They want this person to help foster a culture of creative thinking
