Industrial Coating – Technical Service

Privately owned chemical manufacturer is seeking a Technical Service individual who has industry experience, providing technical support to general industrial coatings customers and open to overnight travel 3 days a week.  If you have problem solved for industrial coatings and live in the Midwest, this could be a great opportunity for you!  Our client offers great benefits and looks to promote from within!

Duties:

  • Provide technical support for the implementation of new industrial coating products and application processes.
  • Monitor industry trends related to coatings, application methods, and equipment technologies.
  • Coordinate testing and evaluation of new application systems and product performance.
  • Conduct competitive product and market research to support business development initiatives.
  • Present technical product solutions tailored to customer production processes and operational requirements.
  • Identify customer needs and market opportunities to support growth and process improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to modify products and processes based on customer requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical and industry knowledge through ongoing professional development.
  • Represent the organization professionally in customer and internal interactions.
  • Prepare and maintain reports in accordance with company standards and procedures.
  • Lead and document technical application trials, testing, and process evaluations.
  • Provide customer guidance on application equipment, process optimization, and coating procedures.
  • Collaborate with laboratory teams to test and refine application parameters for new products.
  • Conduct technical workshops and training sessions for customers and internal teams.
  • Develop application guidelines, maintain technical documentation, and support issue resolution and complaint analysis.
  • Define process parameters and train customer personnel on application methods and surface preparation techniques.
  • Support strategic initiatives focused on long-term business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate travel and scheduling to maximize efficiency and customer support coverage.
  • Travel to customer and project sites as required.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to support additional responsibilities based on business and operational needs.

Technical Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Receive hazardous waste training within 6 months of initial employment and annually thereafter in accordance with the applicable provisions of R.61-79.262.17(a)(7)(ii), (iii) and (iv)(D) of the South Carolina Hazardous Waste Management Regulations (SCHWMR).
  • Working knowledge of industrial equipment, production systems, and technical application processes.
  • Familiarity with coating application equipment and fluid delivery systems, including spray systems and transfer pumps.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for customer support and project activities.
