Lab Chemist and LIMS Specialist

Leading global provider of agricultural products is seeking a Chemist with analytical laboratory and LIMS experience.  Work with all levels of personnel.  Company provides comprehensive relocation expense coverage for qualified individual.

This position reports to the General Supervisor Environmental Affairs and Technical Services Group.

The primary objective of this position is to provide technical assistance and review of laboratory analysis methods to the onsite QC Laboratory and configure, implement, and maintain Laboratory Information Management System to meet internal and external customer needs.

What You Will Do:

  • Provide technical assistance to Laboratory technicians and Laboratory Management Team for Implementation of new analytical methods / instrumentation
  • Develop, review and update laboratory analytical methods and procedures troubleshooting of analytical issues and instrumentation
  • Assist Laboratory Management Team with quality review of analysis data and troubleshooting of analytical issues and instrumentation
  • Assist in the design, coding, testing, debugging, implementation, and maintenance of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software including both the Production and test systems ats site and at sister plants
  • Laboratory Data Management – involves maintenance of samples and related sample information (sample templates, multi-level product specifications, test schedules, analyses, and related calculations, etc.)
  • Work with end users at multiple facilities to provide information and training in the use of LIMS Software
  • Configure new sample login schedules for registration of samples in the LIMS database
  • Interface Laboratory instruments and analyzers to the sample management system, including but not limited to ICPs, GCs, balances, scanners, etc.
  • Configure and maintain daily reports generated from LIMS software and uploaded into the sales database
  • Provide technical support for Process Development and other projects
  • Assist Laboratory Management Team and Customer Services group with Certificate of Analysis (COA) generation and periodic troubleshooting for issues as they arise
  • Interact directly with sales team and external customers to provide missing COAs or to update an existing COAs
  • SQC Charting – Query database for results and create SQC charts for internal and external customers
  • Compile, verify and publish Purified Acid shipment data annually for use by company Sales Team
  • Interact with IT personnel to identify and correct problems with bi-directional transfer of data between site and sales database systems
  • Attend annual conferences, trainings, and seminars to acquire additional knowledge and exchange ideas with fellow LIMS Administrators
  • Schedule is 8-4:30 M-F

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or other science related field
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS), such as Sample Manager, as well as database design and SQL programming
  • 2-3 years related work experience preferred
  • Minimal laboratory analytical experience preferred
  • VGL programming experience preferred
  • C+ and Python programming experience beneficial
