Job Description

  • Provide daily support for labor relations activities.
  • Serve as the company's representative in all legal proceedings concerning Union Relations.
  • Offer guidance to management regarding the interpretation of contract language, union policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, advice, and assistance to management in matters involving union-represented employees' administration and management.
  • Lead negotiations for collective bargaining agreements and handle grievances.
  • Assist the Legal Operations team in various union-related legal matters like arbitration hearings, and discipline review boards.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as Compensation, Benefits, and Staffing on issues related to union-represented employees.
  • Potentially oversee the development of union-avoidance programs in non-union facilities and coordinate de-certification activities in union facilities.
  • Foster a cooperative and collaborative management/employee work environment through positive climate-setting practices.
  • Plan and execute programs to meet human resource needs that support short and long-term business objectives, including employee development plans and affirmative action administration.
  • Manage and inspire staff, conduct performance reviews, develop employee skills, support professional growth, and enhance their contribution to the department.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Business Management, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant labor relations experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing settings, with a preference for experience in process or chemical plant environments.
  • Prior experience as a spokesperson during contract negotiations.
  • Expertise in collective bargaining agreements, labor relations, HR compliance/employment law, succession planning, employee retention, organizational capability, leadership development, performance management, team building, and employee relations.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop HR teams to create engaged and effective groups.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous work experience in an OFCCP regulated environment is highly desirable.
  • Preferred flexibility to relocate to various US locations.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
