R+D Chemist
Chemical manufacturer is seeking a driven chemist to join their team and formulate liquid coatings. If you have a bachelor’s degree, and at least 2 years of formulation experience in a manufacturing setting, this could be a great role for you! The company is rapidly growing!
Duties:
- Develop new products for customers per their requirements
- Develop products and solve technical issues with a relatively minor amount of direction
- Exercise wide discretion when solving challenges
- Provide technical assistance for existing accounts
- Build knowledge of analytical methods for solving problems
- Train production and quality control personnel
- Work with production personnel to solve problems
- Exhibit demonstrated decision-making abilities
- Plan activities for support personnel
- Reduce or rework distressed products on hand to reduce inventory
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- As part of the housekeeping procedures, the employee may be involved with the disposal of hazardous waste. The initial training of how to properly dispose of hazardous waste will be performed by the Environmental and Safety department or the department supervisor. Annual training of the same will be performed by the EHS department
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field
- One to three years in a manufacturing or industrial setting, preferably in coatings or chemical environment
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery
