Lead Food Technologist – Project Leader

Help lead the R&D project team, managing timelines and expectations, working closely with cross-functional divisions to ensure goals are met for commercialization of products for their customers.

This is a practical day to day project leadership role, not a research-based role.  You will balance weekly projects and timelines, a hybrid role of R&D and project team management.  You have a background in conflict management, practical resolution methods, team leadership, and ability to coordinate and align projects from beginning to completion.

The Lead Food Technologist – Project Leader is responsible for managing all R&D activities for commercialization projects.  Primary responsibilities include taking the lead position on commercialization projects, establishment and monitoring of project timelines, and coordination of meetings and follow ups between the key players in the scale-up process.

  • Serve as a Project Leader for commercialization projects from ideation through final execution at plant and distribution to customer
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a detailed project plan to monitor and track project progress
  • Develop comprehensive project timelines to be shared with team members and customers
  • Coordinate meetings and project follow ups with R&D, Marketing/Sales, Plant Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Graphics, Purchasing, and Finance to ensure all opportunities are on course to meet the customer’s expectations and deadlines

  • Provide oral and written progress updates to stakeholders and business leaders
  • Must be able to clearly articulate technical product information in a format that is understandable to nontechnical audiences
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
