Life insurance underwriter- 100% Remote!

We are looking for a thorough Life Insurance Underwriter to determine potential clients’ risk factors and to establish the terms of coverage.

Responsibilities

• Review insurance applications for compliance and adherence.
• Conducts regular follow-up on all outstanding underwriting requirements.
• Assess clients’ background information and financial status.
• Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions.
• Draw up a quotes for competitive insurance premiums.
• Orders, and reviews underwriting requirements including Attending Physician Statements, Exams, supplemental forms and other medical requirements for submission to the carrier
• Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies with brokers or policyholders.
• Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made.
• Develop and maintain a profitable book of business for the insurer
• Follow applicable insurance laws

Requirements and skills

• Proven insurance underwriting experience at least 2 years.
• Sensible judgement and attention to detail and confident decision making skills.
• Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss exposures
• Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to navigate and utilize the Internet
• Designations preferred but not required.
