Lubricant Chemist
An independent family-held chemical manufacturer is looking for an experienced lubricant, grease, or cleansers chemist to come join their team! Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops products such as metalworking fluids, industrial cleaners, rust preventatives and drawing and stamping fluids to meet the need of the Sales team and satisfy customer material specifications, while ensuring profitability
- Familiarity with standards tests for quality control of all out-going products and in-coming raw materials
- Assists in testing field samples and be able to produce technical reports
- Assist with customer support on technical matters
- Performs FTIR and other standard lab testing for lubricants, grease, etc.
- Produce technical documentation, including Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Product Label templates, Technical Data Sheets (TDS), etc.
- Completes assignments in an accurate and timely manner, professionally documenting work utilizing Lab Notebooks, or other prescribed method
- Maintains, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment and instruments
- Assists in maintaining a professional, organized laboratory by keeping all lab equipment, fixtures, and common work areas clean and orderly and following Chemical Hygiene procedures
- Able to travel less than 10%
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. regularly

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, Chemistry
- 5-7 years industrial lubricant experience or commensurate work experience
- Experience must include hands-on laboratory bench work formulating and testing metalworking fluids, cleaners, stamping compounds, rust preventatives, and grease
- Industrial fluids / lubricant technology, including applications
- Industry-related Regulatory requirements
