MRO Inventory Manager
Job Description
MRO Inventory Manager
We've partnered with a leading energy organization to find their next MRO Inventory Manager – Northwest Indiana. This MRO Inventory Manager will own the full lifecycle of maintenance, repair & operations inventory — from stocking strategies and critical spares to vendor coordination and storeroom operations. This isn't a desk job. If you're most comfortable in out in the field, in a storeroom, on a plant floor, and knee-deep in parts data — please keep reading.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting min/max levels, safety stock, and reorder points for critical spares
- Working alongside maintenance planners and reliability engineers to stay ahead of demand
- Supporting shutdowns and turnarounds with advanced kitting and materials readiness
- Keeping CMMS/ERP data clean and actionable (SAP, Maximo, etc.)
- Driving storeroom organization, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy
- Identifying slow-moving/obsolete stock and building rationalization plans
What we're looking for:
- 4 + years in MRO inventory, maintenance planning, or industrial warehousing
- Strong CMMS/ERP experience
- Real understanding of industrial equipment and maintenance practices
- Comfortable in a heavy industrial environment — this site involves wearing PPE, and outdoor exposure. It's not glamorous, and that's okay.
- Proactive mindset — lead times here run 3–4 months, so reactive ordering isn't an option
Bonus points for:
- Background in manufacturing, chemical processing, or heavy industry
- CPM, CPIM, CSCP, or CMRP certification
- Experience with VMI, Kanban, 5S, or reliability-centered maintenance
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field preferred — or equivalent hands-on experience.
If you know MRO and you're not afraid to get your hands dirty (literally), would love to hear from you.
Additional Information:
Target Salary range: $120,000 - $135, 000 + Bonus opportunity
50% Regional travel required, some overnights.
