Job Description

The Maintenance Engineer directs the facility predictive and preventive maintenance programs, analyzes equipment failures, improves spare parts inventory, and manages the plant lubrication and infrastructure systems. This role executes capital and expense projects designed to reduce overall operational costs, increase machine reliability, and deliver an expedited return on investment. Additionally, the position oversees the daily operation and maintenance of all plant utilities, including steam, compressed air, cooling water, and natural gas, which demands a technical understanding of boilers, air compressors, and cooling towers.
In this position, the engineer develops equipment reliability initiatives, assists production teams to optimize manufacturing productivity and quality, and serves as the primary technical resource for personnel working with utility systems. The role involves guiding maintenance employees with technical advice, providing leadership to solve recurring problems long-term, and offering immediate troubleshooting support as daily difficulties arise. Furthermore, the engineer reviews maintenance programs for ongoing optimization, communicates daily with area coordinators, manages the full scope of improvement projects from budgeting to commissioning, and directly supervises outside contractors to support overall plant requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Engineering Degree preferred
  • Expert working knowledge of production equipment
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance techniques (PM, PDM, CMMS, RCM, TPM)
  • Understanding of good engineering and safety practices
  • Ability to coordinate, train, and motivate hourly employees and outside contractors
  • Good communication and technical writing skills
  • Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, and complete work orders in a timely fashion
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support maintenance teams
