Marketing Manager (Elastomers)

Ensure continuous business growth and protection of our company's market share in strategic business segments by executing the conversion of growth opportunities into new businesses (generates and qualifies leads), while meeting the profitability targets set by SBU. The role is responsible 1) for captivating customers through differentiated value propositions and value-chain pull, 2) for effective partnerships with R&D (Application Development, Product R&D) to deliver best-in-class innovative solutions with robust IP protection, 3) and for industry`s leading product and solution positioning in the market place including the fast and effective commercial implementation of our company's innovations, while partnering closely with Commercial and Communications teams.
Identify potential customers within the areas of value identified in the market segment strategy.
Validate growth opportunities by testing value proposition with potential customers.
Is responsible for opportunities involving New product and / or new applications.
Partner with Sales to effectively convert qualified leads into sales
Manage Application or Product developments from business case to commercialization:
Create business cases for Application or Product developments that meet customer needs
Partner effectively with R&D and Regulatory on related Application or Product developments
Lead external validation programs to assess performance of developmental application solutions and products
Lead customer scale-ups and early commercial implementations of new innovations delivered by R&D to achieve the highest speed-to-market in the industry
Ensures that projects are effectively and efficiently moved through the stages including tracking mechanism to develop base line performance
Determines resource requirements (people, $$) to meet objectives/deliverables and creates project execution team structure
Proposes internal and/or external resources required to staff project, is closely involved in selection of external resources
Leads project team to enable execution to meet all objectives/deliverables
Sets timetable and milestones in alignment with project and steering team and tracks progress
Ensures all disciplines and team members are coordinated to achieve optimum results
Leads risk evaluation studies and contingency/mitigation planning and execution for each Project
Monitors project progress and adjusts tactics and resources as required to keep project on track
Ensures risk are evaluated and communicated
Identify profitable growth opportunities in emerging markets, adjacent existing segments and new application solution areas
Identify M&A opportunities within the technology, IP and adjacent product or commercial capability spaces
BS in Chemistry, Engineering or Business Administration with a technical minor. Min. 5-10 years’ increasing responsibility in business development in an industrial setting in one of key SBU's markets with a proven track record in successful technical solution selling. PhD. and/or MBA an appreciated plus. Six Sigma or other project management certification strongly preferred.
