Midwest Regional Sales Account Manager – Industrial Minerals

If you’ve sold chemical or mineral products into a variety of industries like Paints and Coatings, Adhesives, Batteries, AG Chems, Ceramics for 5 years, and are ready for more independence and wider client base, this is an exciting new position working directly with customers and distributors to grow sales and market share.  Travel across the Upper Midwest / Canada to meet with customers and find solutions for their needs.  Long term growth opportunity for career ADVANCEMENT!

Develop business for facilities by creating and maintaining customer relationships that enhance customer confidence, communication and desire to continue to expand all aspects of business with the division.  Manages distributor sales and technical sales within assigned region.

Positional Responsibilities:

  • Makes sales calls on current accounts and potential new business opportunities. Formulates and prepares quotes on business from existing and/or new customers and works with management to identify the best business mix and volume with assigned facilities
  • Develops and implements business plan with the authorized distributors on the North America continent
  • Provides sales support and training for distributors to ensure they understand product, pricing, availability, market, procedures and how to communicate questions or problems with the company
  • Negotiates contracts with new / existing customers and monitors facility performance concerning such contracts to ensure timely achievement of processing commitments to customers. Maintains price hedges with customers
  • Ensures products / services are marketed and sold in accordance with budgeted objective to obtain maximum profitability and sales volume in relation to pre-set marketing and sales standards
  • Evaluates continually the timely adjustment of marketing strategy and sales plans to meet changing marketing and sales conditions
  • Establishes personal relationships with existing and potential customers by attending conventions and industry meetings. Maintains profiles on customers and distributors
  • Formulates and recommends policies and objectives for marketing and sales activities
  • Performs sales penetration planning which includes an analysis of competitive products and selling techniques, consumer research, marketing legislation, sales budgets, quotas, pricing and distribution
  • Recommends product / service modifications or improvements based on findings of marketing research, technical service work or customer feedback

Job Requirements

Technical Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in a Technical Sales Role for Industrial Applications. Sales in Rubber, Paint and Coatings, Adhesives, Ceramics

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
  • 5-7 years relevant sales experience in metals, chemicals, manufacturing or related industry

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conforms to prescribed style and format
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and / or board of directors

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Passport
