Plant Controller
Job Description
Purpose of the Job: Direct all accounting and financial reporting activities for manufacturing operations and sales/shipping operations. Responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, payroll, cost accounting, standard costing, budgeting and expense analysis. Position also ensures appropriate financial and managerial controls are in place plus that reports are timely and accurate.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
- Prepare weekly operations forecasting reports and review with plant and corporate management.
- Interact with operations management to assist with issues.
- Manage accounting department.
- Coordinate accounting, financial reporting and analysis, including monthly quarterly/annual reporting requirements.
- Manage the month-end close process, including analyzing all manufacturing production variances.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and measurement of operation cost improvements.
- Review capital appropriation requests and provide financial assistance.
- Create and maintain processes and procedures to ensure proper controls exist across operations.
- Co-manage the annual physical inventory observation; monitor the cycle count program and resolve issues.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual business plan and forecast updates.
- Perform financial analysis to guide strategic operation decisions and key initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

Job Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing setting in an accounting or finance leadership role.
- A strong understanding of finance, accounting, payroll and HR software capabilities.
- Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to hire and lead a team effectively.
