Purchasing Specialist
Job Description
Innovative food manufacturer is seeking a Purchasing Specialist. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw ingredients and various other materials, such as packaging supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and Purchasing: Identify and procure essential raw materials and supplies needed for production.
- Cost Management: Negotiate contracts to secure favorable pricing and optimize costs across procurement.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, ensure proper stock rotation, and facilitate timely deliveries of supplies.
Duties:
- Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with suppliers to establish contracts and pricing agreements.
- Order Management: Place orders for necessary raw materials and packaging supplies as required.
- Supplier Relations: Develop and nurture strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable support.
- Inventory Control: Oversee inventory levels and ensure timely stock replenishment to avoid shortages.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory for audit and tracking purposes.
- Reporting: Compile and present reports on purchasing performance and cost trends to stakeholders.
Compensation: $50,000 - $85,000 (Please note that an offer in this range is dependent on related experience and skill set. Considering entry-level candidates as well.)
Position is on site, 5 days as a week.
Job Requirements
Candidates must a Bachelor's Degree
Considering entry-level up to 3 years of experience for this role.
Experience buying raw ingredients such as spices, oils, vinegars and packaging
Food & beverage manufacturing industry experience
