QC/QA Chemist

Primary focus will be to provide technical support and quality control for production facilities worldwide.  The individual must possess the ability to operate lab instrumentation independently and support manufacturing as needed.

  • Perform QC/QA analysis on final products using instrumentation such as ICP-OES, HPLC, GC/MS, GC-FID, Viscometer, and Karl Fisher to ensure specifications are met
  • Ability to recognize unexpected results and independently work to solve the problem or notify supervisor for assistance
  • Qualify raw materials for use in production and evaluate products at various conditions for short- and long-term stability
  • Create reports and required documentation needed for products such as registration documents, certificates of analyses, method write-ups, standard operating procedures, and summary reports
  • Maintains familiarity on use of all applicable equipment, systems, and procedures (SOPs)
  • Maintains current and accurate documentation
  • Ability to work in the plant and communicate with production staff to investigate pertinent chemical issues
  • Optimize current formulations to improve upon stability profiles for regulatory approval and long-term stability when necessary
  • Key liaison between production and sales when concerns arise in the field
  • Maintains clean, orderly, and safe laboratory work area in the laboratory
  • Complies with company policies and quality control guidelines
  • Stays abreast of relevant current technology and applicable chemistry
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master’s in Chemistry
  • Previous experience (3+ years) working as an analytical chemist
  • Significant understanding on the use, interpretation, and maintenance of analytical instrumentation (primarily HPLC, GC, GC/MS, and ICP/OES)
  • Ability to communicate interdepartmentally between all teams including production, sales, QC/QA, R&D, and regulatory
  • Knowledge of sampling methods and quality control systems
  • Experience working with hazardous materials
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) including strong interpersonal and analytical communications
  • Consistently meet commitment, deadlines and goals
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to research and apply that research to assigned tasks
  • Ability to learn quickly with minimal training
