Quality Manager
The Quality Manager will uphold established quality and food safety procedures and guidelines to ensure the utmost standards are met for company products. You will lead and monitor daily HACCP, lab testing, sanitation and GMP’s are met at this SQF certified facility. Hire, train, and supervise your quality team on the lines and in the lab. Shift is currently 4, 10-hour days. Can switch to 5, 8-hour days.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the quality control and food safety metrics on daily basis
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and SQF certification is upheld for food safety
- Manage QC laboratory including equipment and calibration, ensure maintenance schedule for equipment is timely for routine cleaning
- Will serve as SQF practitioner to review, implement and maintain standards
- Supervise team including training, mentoring, coaching, performance improvement opportunities, hiring, onboarding, employee reviews
- Provide and document KPI’s on food safety at the plant
- Work closely with cross-functional team member in the plant including production, warehouse, and sanitation personnel
- Review and address deviations and follow through on corrective actions
- Provide feedback to plant management and Quality Director of weekly ongoings and update accordingly via verbally, email and documentation records
- Manage Listeria control program at facility weekly
- Ability to step into role to fill in when Director, supervisor or lead not available to ensure quality and food safety does not lapse
- Monthly plant audits required and documented including GMP and sanitation
- Assist in inspections when needed including regulatory, customer and governmental inspections occur

Job Requirements
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- HACCP, GMP, and Sanitation certification / training
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience
- Working in a food industry plant in meats, vegetable, seafood, or poultry preferred
- Food safety and QA/QC skills, and regulatory requirements understanding
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Maintains a “boots on the ground” mentality and visible in lab and plant
- Likes to be challenged and always seeking continuous improvement
- Takes pride in work and coaching people up to their potential
