Job Description
Quality Manager
The Quality Manager will hold daily responsibility for the safety and quality of the products manufactured at or for the facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the facility Quality Team
- Facilitate daily Quality Team Meeting
- Approves time and PTO requests
- Complete annual review of direct reports
- Oversee internal plant issues affecting the safety / quality / integrity / security of raw materials, packaging components, finished product, equipment, and building/grounds
- Work cross functionally with multiple departments to help with questions/concerns:
- Regulatory on compliance changes, customer changes, industry changes
- Supply chain on ingredient issues and approving new suppliers
- Sales and Customer Service on product set up and early release / unique release items
- Production Scheduling on delays or any needed issues
- R&D on new ingredients / vendors / issue items to get product to match and fit customer needs
- R&D on expired ingredients and shelf-life extensions
- Create and update product formulas in facility X3 for flavors and compound flavors (HBT)
- Attend monthly Quality Leadership Forms which may require travel to any company location
- Represent or designate a representative for regulatory audits (USDA, FDA, etc.), 3rd Party Audits (SQF, OTCO, Gluten Free, etc.), and customer audits
- Enforce SOP’s, cGMPs, HACCP, Food Safety, Food Defense, Allergen, Food Safety Culture, and company policies
- Alert the Director of Quality of actual or potential issues that may influence the Safety / Quality / Integrity / Security of raw materials, packaging components, finished products, equipment, and buildings / grounds
- Empowered to act within the scope of their responsibilities to resolve the impact of these issues immediately
- Ensure individuals are informed and held accountable to these programs / procedures

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Associate Degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
- HACCP Certified
- Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
- SQF Practitioner Certification
- Appreciation for cleanliness and sanitation, keeping work area clean and organized
- Knowledge of and ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and its importance
- Follow & monitor to assure all Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines are implemented & followed
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and wear appropriate apparel for the job
- Follow time and attendance guidelines in accordance with the employee handbook
- Work cooperatively in a team environment. Accept and follow directions
- Attention to detail and able to multi-task
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Intermediate computer knowledge and skills
- Ability to use computer programs and maintain spreadsheets in Excel
- Member of the following teams: Quality, Crisis Management, HACCP, Recall and Food Defense
