R&D Chemist II

Will partner with sales and marketing to seek opportunities for new product development.  Based on customer’s requirements and/or technical seeds, the person needs to conduct laboratory-based tasks which include designing, planning and executing experiments that require sampling, testing, measuring, recording and analyzing results to develop product and process, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and improvement of analytical methodologies by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Visit customers to develop strong relationships that lead to greater understanding of the customers’ requirement, opinions about products
  • Travel up to 40% of monthly working days as peak time, not every month
  • Find new application of our products; apply new tech. to new application based on market research
  • Design, plans and executes experiments based upon customers’ requirements on our internal designed target
  • Performs laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support material / product investigations
  • Carry out trials in production to develop new process and/or commercialize new products
  • Communicate well with sales & marketing team and other sister companies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in chemistry; polymer chemistry preferred. Masters a plus.
  • Minimum of 0-3 years related experience in a manufacturing company with focus on polymer science, adhesive technology, rubber material science or epoxy resin technology; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Scientific basic knowledge (Organic material, Inorganic material, polymer material). Preferred to have basic physics (polymer physics, Rheology, Phenomenology) Analytical Chemistry
  • Requires a good understanding and being capable of operating needed test equipment to automotive specifications
  • Ability to design, plan and execute experiments based upon scientific methods
  • Very collaborative environment, very big on teamwork
