R&D Technician (First Shift M-F 7am to 4pm)

Our Research Development Lab Technicians are accountable and responsible to adhere to all major process and behavioral safety principles, lifesaving rules, and preserve high standards in housekeeping regards to caring for our assets. Additional responsibilities are listed here.

  • Perform physical tests such as impact strength, tensile strength, tensile modulus, flexural strength, melt flow, etc. and document results.
  • Perform testing on a number of analytical test instrumentation such as: GC, NMR, colorimeter, FTIR, DSC, etc.
  • Operate compounding, extrusion and injection molding equipment.
  • Perform routine calibrations per plan in compliance with ISO 17025 and ISO 9001.
  • Troubleshoot polymer compounding, extrusion and injection molding equipment and perform basic repairs.
  • Maintain understanding of basic emergency equipment use (absorbent, deluge systems, fire extinguisher, etc.).
  • Coordinate third party lab testing as directed.
  • Responsible for sending and receiving bulk and small sample shipments.

  • BS Degree
  • Polymer Chemistry Background (Plastics)
  • 1-2 year Chemist who can complete application projects that include performing laboratory chemical and physical tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished products as well as operating compounding, extrusion and injection molding equipment
  • Excellent communication, sampling, troubleshooting and making recommendations with internal and external stakeholders is key
  • This position requires great collaboration, sharing of innovative ideas within the team and operations which facilitates communication and fosters a high-performance work environment
  • Candidates will successfully contribute to the organization by managing priorities, following protocols and sharing ideas while adhering to all behavioral safety principles within lifesaving rules within our industry
