R&D Technical Inside Sales – Bakery / Savory

Position Function:  Reporting to the National Commercial Director, the individual will be responsible to support the sales team in a technical support role for key customers.  The other part of the role is to create new products using proprietary products

Major Tasks and Duties:

  • This position is a creative role, where the ideal candidate should want to learn how to make items such as bread with different ingredients and experiment. They will also be responsible for supporting the outside sales team in a tech services role.  They will travel to customers 25% of the time to present and trouble shoot at customer locations.  Provide support to customer using the various tools and resources provided
  • Present application concepts along with key positioning to differentiate the company’s products and capabilities
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining good business relations with customers and external trade contacts
  • Ensure that customers are satisfied with Company products and services
  • Obtain and share customer feedback and continually work to improve products and services
  • Complete and resolve customer requests, complaints, and inquiries
  • Promote products and services at trade shows and organize display material
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining effective working relations, communication, and coordination with Company personnel and with management
  • Provide assistance to support personnel and fellow teammates as needed
  • Keep management informed of area activities, changes in competitive conditions, and significant issues & achievements
  • Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly
  • Spend required time in offices to gain product knowledge and build relationships within the company
  • Attend meetings as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science or related degree
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Experience within the Food Industry, with preferred experience in technical bakery ingredients and engagement with industry organizations such as IFT, ASB, etc.
  • Outstanding organization, time management and follow-up skills including samples, technical requests, presentations, etc.
  • Ability to ask great questions to identify need of our Customers and link them to value added, innovative solutions
  • Strong communication skills, both external and internal, written and verbal
  • Sales and marketing proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Growth mindset with a strong track record of professional success and personal achievement (engagement in industry education and service)
  • A great team member, with ability to work in cross functional teams to execute Customer strategies
  • Takes the initiative, can work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Good computer skills in Windows environment
  • Ability to learn wide range of technical ingredients and position this company in a unique place in the market
