• Manage accounting operations including cost accounting, inventory management, CAPEX and oversee controls for multiple US manufacturing sites and a Canadian manufacturing site.
• Work closely and provide financial direction and support to manufacturing site management.
• Work closely with and provide information to corporate operations and finance.
• Assist with the monthly close process analyzing plant costs and recording plant accruals.
• Provide lead in conducting inventory cycle counts, inventory controls and analysis.
• Backup cost controller for setting inventory costing in SAP system.
• Manage and analyze raw material and inventory costs in SAP system throughout the month to ensure accuracy and to aid in forecasting results.
• Integral part in preparation of annual budget process working with plant and corporate operations management in gathering, analyzing, and reporting budget information.
• Assist with external audit, bank audits and collateral valuations, and external insurance site valuations.
• Assist with forecasts, analysis, independent projects, and ad hoc requests.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of related experience in the manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and the manufacturing process.
• Strong SAP experience, including inventory costing is a must.
• Experience with Canadian sites including GST a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate skills in critical reasoning and process analysis.
• Ability to identify strengths, weaknesses and provide alternative efficient solutions.
• A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Office and PowerPoint is essential.
• Ability to operate independently, with minimal direction as well as collaboratively with others within and outside of the company.
