Regional Sr. Quality Assurance Manager

This role manages the quality systems development and implementation at their plants to ensure compliance across the board.  Subject matter expert in microbial food safety, sanitation, auditing, HACCP, ISO, cGMP, and cGLPs.  In addition to quality systems implementation, this role mentors and coaches the QA Plant management teams with the latest quality metrics, systems, policies, and procedures to ensure they are effective.  Will also work with regional QA and QC Management, and Plant Managers in support of total quality requirements to meet government regulations, customer satisfaction, and business objectives.

  • Quality System and procedural design and implementation to streamline multiple manufacturing environments: You will provide leadership to ensure effective quality guidelines are established to champion quality best practices at each plant
  • Quality Management practices including ISO and FSSC 22000, SQF, and BRC
  • Auditing of site, supplier and 3rd party facilities
  • Quality systems expert for reporting of inspections and provide training to users and create master plans
  • Implement corrective action plans to continuously improve performance
  • Serve as primary technical quality liaison for customers and trade associations
  • Meet with QA, QC and plant managers in the field to discuss issues and trouble shoot quality concerns
  • Current knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance with applicable food safety needs
  • Coaching and development of QA/QC reports to support plant and regional strategic agenda
  • Up to 50% travel to regional plants

  • BS in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology or Chemistry
  • QA plant manager process and quality control for wet/dry mix background preferred
  • Building and implementing Quality metrics
  • Extensive experience collaborating with internal and external partners and customers including government agencies for federal regulations in the food industry and pharmaceutical ingredient guidelines
  • Understanding of microbiological data and competency in food safety
  • Excellent leadership and management skills working with plant and corporate level employees
  • Sound business judgement in how quality affects budgeting, costs, and forecasting dynamics
  • 10+ years in Quality in a food/pharma manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
