Job Description

Successful global company is seeking a licensed PE with experience in concrete to join their structural engineering team! Chance to train with an industry expert and there is room for advancement within the company.

The primary purpose of this position is to join the world’s leader in synthetic turf manufacturing, facility design, and construction. The candidate will have an opportunity to work with the Sales and Construction teams and learn the process of athletic facility design, utilizing AutoCAD civil 3D to lead production, permitting, and performing post tension slab design, vertical construction design and calculations with reports. Work will be for all levels of athletic facility design and construction.


Under limited supervision and much decision-making:

  • Prepare structural design/construction plans, including notes and details, plan and profile sheets, and x-sections.
  • Design and Analysis - Perform structural design and analysis for various building and infrastructure projects, including sports complexes and stadiums, sports surfaces, and institutional structures.
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Create and submit project permitting packages.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare technical reports, memos, and exhibits.
  • Search, investigate, and select technical reference data pertinent to a project.
  • Support the sales team in key pursuits including concept design and sales meetings with clients.
  • Maintain positive communication with project managers, staff, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Enforces company safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality standards.
  • Works with customers, installation crews, sub-contractors, and Sales to resolve operational and technical issues and challenges.
  • Reviews and approves sub-contractor invoices and assists the Project Manager in billing, design, and engineering subcontractor invoices and change orders.
  • Ensure proper project closeout; Certificate of Completion/ Substantial Completion, As-Builts, and project checklist completed.
  • Provides Subject Matter Expert support to Sales/Customers to ensure the awardof the contract.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Assist in the accomplishment of Company goals.
  • Helps other employees to accomplish Company goals.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the department supervisor.
  • Participates in the Disaster Recovery plan as required.
  • Self-disciplined and self-motivated
  • Maintain multi-tasking skills to prioritize ever-changing needs, demands, crisis management:
    o Customer Service
    o Customer Demands
    o Construction RFI processing
    o Construction Conflicts
    o Installation Techniques and Processes
  • Attend sales meetings with Regional Sales Managers to outline minimum structural details and design recommendations.
  • Visit with regional civil partners and subcontractors.
  • Attend and participate in Weekly Regional Conference calls (WIP Calls)
  • Assist in the Design & Sales Process: Organize and assemble scope for new design projects with sales, customers, and local contractors.
  • Bid & Estimating Process: Read and assemble the specifications to make sure we have the proper budget allocation for closing out material and expectations to properly close out the project.
  • Execution Process: Track projects and communicate daily with Project Team, Customers, and Sales to ensure documents are assembled ahead of time before closing out so we can have a quick process to close out the projects.
  • Completion Process: Ensure all projects are closed out in a timely fashion at or under budget with customers fully engaged with completion and punch-list complete.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University; or technical school degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional Engineering License (PE) with the ability for licensure reciprocity in neighboring jurisdictions preferred.
  • Five years previous experience with post tension structural design, layout, and vertical structural design is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SAP2000, ETABS, and STAAD.Pro.
