Sales Account Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Account Manager to drive sales growth of our functional ingredient solutions designed to help food and beverage processors achieve better yields, enhance food safety, provide clean label cure ingredients, and improve antioxidation performance.  This role will focus on building long-term relationships with customers in the food manufacturing and processing industry, identifying opportunities for value creation, and delivering technical and commercial support throughout the sales cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Business Development
    • Identify, develop, and manage new and existing customer accounts within assigned territory.
    • Promote the company’s portfolio of functional ingredients (e.g., yield enhancers, shelf-life extenders, antioxidants, clean-label solutions, clean label cure / cure accelerators) to food processors and manufacturers.
    • Develop and execute strategic account plans to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets.
    • Generate leads, quality opportunities, and manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Technical & Commercial Support
    • Collaborate with R&D and technical service teams to deliver ingredient solutions tailored to customer formulations and processing conditions.
    • Provide guidance on application methods, dosage rates, and regulatory compliance as needed.
    • Participate in product trials, plant visits, and technical presentations to demonstrate product performance and ROI.
  • Market Intelligence & Strategy
    • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform product positioning and innovation.
    • Contribute to marketing initiatives, trade shows, and industry events to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement.
    • Provide feedback to the team on emerging customer challenges and opportunities.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Develop deep relationships at multiple organizational levels (R&D, procurement, operations, quality, and management).
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in alignment with company policies.
    • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication, problem-solving, and after-sales support.

Salary

$110,000 - $150,000 base + commission

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of B2B sales experience.
  • Strong understanding of food processing technologies and formulation principles.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into commercial value propositions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit customers, plants, and support industry events.
