Scientist – Enzyme Applications

Currently seeking a Scientist with experience in enzyme immobilization, enzyme encapsulation and enzyme-based process development.  Experience in organic chemistry, enzymatic transformation, enzyme expression, purification and basic enzyme characterization techniques are essential.  Ability to execute experimental design, utilize electronic data capturing systems and databases, and research of scientific literature is also required.  Experience with chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques is desired.  Hands on experience with molecular biology techniques preferred but not required.  The successful candidate will be an integral team player of the enzyme application group who will interact with groups across company’s research organization, to advance company’s process and product portfolio that utilize enzymes from bench to commercial.

  • Advanced Degree or BS degree with equivalent experience in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in organic synthesis and developing process using immobilized enzyme preferred
  • Prior experience in HTP screening, Enzyme immobilization and encapsulation desirable
  • Understanding of enzyme kinetics and developing kinetic models for enzyme based industrial process
  • Ability to manage and guide research projects to successful outcomes
  • Possess excellent project management skills to prioritize projects and move multiple projects to completion simultaneously
  • Must be willing to work on the bench actively developing / evaluating applications
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must posses good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with researchers with diverse backgrounds
  • Must be a team player and have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • The position requires approximately 5% travel
