Senior Accountant- Wealth Management
Job Description
Our client, an independently-owned wealth management firm in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, is seeking a Senior Accountant to perform a variety of accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks for the company. This individual must possess excellent mathematical, organizational, multi-tasking and communication skills and must be able to work in a professional office environment. The position requires proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks with the willingness to learn other business-related software.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing financial reports, analyses, projections, and budgets
- Performing account reconciliations and maintaining the general ledger
- Assistance with preparation of payroll
- Research for Illinois and out-of-state payroll matters
- Reviewing and monitoring of financial documents created by others
- Recommending ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue
- Assist Controller in preparing documents and interpreting complicated financial information
- Developing paperwork for regulatory reporting
- Preparing tax returns and documentation for external auditor, as needed
- Coordinating and assisting with audit preparations, as needed
- Training and mentoring responsibilities
- Other duties as requested

Job Requirements
Education/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in an accounting position is required
- CPA designation preferred
