Senior Business Development Manager
Nutritional ingredients company is an entrepreneurial and rapidly growing company that develops and manufactures botanical extracts to supply the global food and beverage companies. Nutritional ingredients company’s objective is to provide food and beverage manufacturers solutions that address worldwide trends towards healthier diets and with consumer interest in natural ingredients, and industry pressures from rising commodity costs. To do so, Nutritional ingredients company has a proprietary and innovative technology and integrated supply chain to pioneer the extraction of natural goodness from plants, enabling its customers to develop mainstream healthier food and beverage products.
Specific Responsibilities – MUST love to be a Hunter!
- Manage sales on a daily basis, contacting customers at all levels of R&D, Procurement, Marketing, Quality and Production as well as Regulatory Affairs and Communications.
- Negotiate contracts with customers.
- Identify opportunities to expand company’s portfolio.
- Develop and execute sales budget in accordance with senior management.
- Execute and coordinate all sales-related activities such as, but not limited to: marketing activities, forecasting trade show activities, communications plans, legal and regulatory affairs following company’s guidelines and in agreement with the responsibility of each area.
- Drive strategic initiatives for development of technical-based relationships with customers and distributors.
- Act as a liaison between Sales and Technical Assistance, ensuring that customers are fully trained to properly use company’s portfolio.
- Determine competitive issues that may affect company’s interest.
- Assist in administrative duties as needed.
- Provide assistance for collections, and any financial objective.
- Create and maintain accurate budget and expenditures for sales initiatives within the region.
- Any and all duties as assigned.
***This position, while a permanent position, is a contracted position. Meaning that the Head of Business Development will be expected to acquire their own LLC and will be paid on a 1099 basis. All compensation will be taken into consideration for funding medical benefits, retirement programs, etc. All the functions for the Nutritional ingredients company are set up this way***

Salary
$150,000 - $190,000 + Bonus

Job Requirements
Requirements:
High level of experience as a sales leader with proven track record of new sales and opening new markets; experience in acquisitions is also highly desired; experience in entrepreneurial companies/start ups; Science degree is a big plus; 5-10+ years in industry in food, nutraceutical industries; proven ability to function in a minimally structured environment.
Education:
BS Food Science or related is the ideal but they will absolutely consider a business degree for the right individual as long as he/she has a record of B2B solution sales of ingredients likely. MBA is a plus as this person will be in charge of profit/loss, budgeting, etc.
