Position Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Finance Director to lead our finance organization and serve as a key business partner to executive leadership. This role requires deep expertise in Trade Finance, Controllership, and FP&A, with a strong background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with operational rigor, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a proven track record of driving financial performance, optimizing trade spend, and strengthening financial controls.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive team on financial planning, risk management, and growth initiatives

  • Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecast processes

  • Provide actionable insights to drive margin expansion, working capital optimization, and sustainable growth

Trade Finance & Revenue Management

  • Oversee trade spend planning, tracking, and optimization to maximize ROI

  • Partner with Sales and Commercial teams on pricing strategy, promotional effectiveness, and customer profitability

  • Implement robust trade accrual processes and controls

  • Develop advanced analytics to evaluate trade performance and improve promotional efficiency

FP&A Leadership

  • Direct all financial planning & analysis activities, including forecasting, budgeting, scenario modeling, and performance reporting

  • Develop KPI dashboards and executive-level reporting packages

  • Conduct variance analysis and provide strategic recommendations

  • Support capital allocation and investment decisions

Controllership & Financial Governance

  • Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes

  • Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls

  • Lead audit processes and manage relationships with external auditors

  • Maintain strong balance sheet oversight, including inventory and cost management

CPG Operations Support

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Commercial leadership to drive gross margin improvement

  • Lead inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and SKU profitability analysis

  • Support new product launches with financial modeling and performance tracking

  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes

Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making

  • Improve cross-functional financial acumen across the organization

Job Requirements

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA and/or CPA preferred)

  • 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience

  • Significant experience in the CPG industry (food, beverage, personal care, or related sectors)

  • Demonstrated expertise in:

    • Trade Finance & trade spend management

    • Controllership and technical accounting

    • FP&A leadership and financial modeling

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, cost accounting, and margin analysis

  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools

  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills
