Senior Formulations Chemist – Laundry Detergent
We are seeking an innovative, hands-on, self-motivated researcher with experience in formulating cleaning products. In this role, you will design and carry out formulation experiments following scientific principles and design of experiments, conduct performance comparisons and analysis, and present research findings. Areas of focus include laundry and personal care, OTC-FDA, and commercial applications.
Responsibilities:
- Design and direct research projects to systematically build structure-property relationship of materials and cleaning performances; conducts product stability and performance specific testing; completes product development and reformulation programs; provide in-depth technical knowledge of products and application to support the cleaning market
- Interface directly with external customers and work as a team with sales, marketing, and manufacturing team to understand customer needs and product application requirements necessary for success
- Identifies top projects and sets timelines. Manages portfolio to meet business needs through cost / performance optimization. Incorporates outside trends to influence the portfolio and program. Stays aligned with business objectives by meeting with customers and interacting with various internal functions
- Product and Formulation development and testing:
- Monitors the quality and conformity of formulas
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Identifies raw materials and technologies suitable for product development, new formulation, and / or reformulation
- Demonstrates creativity and resourcefulness in proactively identifying and proposing solutions to issues that may arise during development or in transfer to manufacturing
- May interface with technical support groups including marketing, regulatory, analytical testing facilities, process development and manufacturing
- Manager and train Chemists / Jr. Chemists / Lab Technicians
- Applicants should be able to provide proof of eligibility to work within the U.S. without sponsorship

Job Requirements
Technical Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in chemistry or related fields with 10+ years of related experience, or Master’s in chemistry with 7+ years relatable work experience
- Experience in commercial cleaning or personal care formulation experience
- Knowledge of product innovation and development processes
- Excellent communication skills ~ oral, written, and presentation in English
- Formulation, analytical, problem solving, and project management capabilities
- Intermediate of applicable IT and RT&I laboratory systems
