Job Description

**Job Duties**

  • Provide engineering expertise to support production and other departments in maintaining production systems, utilities, buildings, and grounds, ensuring continuous operations 24/7
  • Collaborate with plant management and corporate teams to enhance employee safety, product quality, equipment reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness using Continuous Improvement methodologies and a Management Operating Structure (MOS)
  • Design, specify, and oversee the execution of capital projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet stakeholder expectations
  • Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to maximize asset performance through scheduled preventative maintenance
  • Develop, track, and analyze key maintenance performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for corrective actions and improvements
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and codes related to the design and operation of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies, standards, and procedures in both capital project execution and daily maintenance activities
  • Share best practices within the Maintenance Department to promote continuous learning and improvement
  • Foster a safe and environmentally responsible workplace that complies with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead employees indirectly, assisting the recruitment, retention, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions
  • Participate in labor negotiations, grievances, and other contract-related matters as needed
  • Collaborate effectively with all departments as a change agent, driving continuous improvement and cross-functional cooperation
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies, procedures, and vendor agreements with national suppliers
  • Undertake managerial duties such as planning, organizing, evaluating, and delegating tasks as part of day-to-day operations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Engineering in a manufacturing plant
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong project management experience with measurable results

 

Strongly Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Food, or related)
  • Union facility experience
